Montreal, September 9, 2026 – The agileDSS Group, a Quebec-based leader in data engineering and artificial intelligence, announces the appointment of Véronique Tremblay as Managing Director of its agileAI agency. A renowned expert in AI governance, she helps organizations transition from an informal adoption of artificial intelligence to a well-planned and lasting integration within their business model. This appointment strengthens the leadership of agileAI, the agileDSS Group’s agency dedicated to applied artificial intelligence.
Helping organizations adopt AI and prevent agentic debt
With 23 years of experience and nearly 100 employees, the agileDSS Group brings together and drives forward agileDSS entities specializing in data engineering, with offices based in Montreal, Quebec City, and Nantes. It has been leading artificial intelligence projects for nearly 10 years, both for the company’s internal needs and for its clients, well before the term became widely used in the market. This expertise led to the founding of the agileAI agency in 2023.
Few market players can claim this complementary approach between data preparation and exploitation (agileDSS) and the use of artificial intelligence (agileAI), spanning the entire process from consulting to implementation and adoption in the field. This pragmatic ability to deliver is often lacking elsewhere in the AI market.

The integration of AI into business models is becoming all the more critical as the rapid adoption of AI agents within companies exposes more and more organizations to “agentic debt”, a concept developed by the agileAI agency a few years ago to describe the phenomenon of systems being deployed faster than the governance mechanisms intended to regulate them. If such a situation is not controlled, it can lead to operational risks. In Quebec, 12.7% of businesses were using AI for production purposes in mid-2025; in France, that figure reached 18% during the same year, nearly triple the level observed in 2023.[1] A recent study also revealed that over half of office workers feel they have to “figure things out on their own” when it comes to AI, due to a lack of clear guidance from their companies, which clearly illustrates the agentic debt phenomenon.[2]
A career at the intersection of science and business
Véronique Tremblay has worked in a variety of settings – private sector, academia, government, consulting – in addition to gaining extensive experience in the finance and insurance sectors. Her career path also includes a significant academic component: for 10 years, she taught the fundamentals of machine learning and statistics, primarily in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Laval University and in the Department of Decision Sciences at HEC Montréal, where she is pursuing a Ph.D. in data science, focusing on algorithmic fairness and AI governance.

In 2026, Véronique Tremblay was appointed to the Advisory Committee on Digital Transformation of the Autorité des marchés financiers (Financial Markets Authority). In 2023, Women in AI Canada named her Responsible AI Leader of the Year, and she has been contributing to the IA Café podcast since that same year. She also serves on the steering committee of a collaborative project led jointly by UNESCO, the Ministère des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie du Québec (Quebec’s Ministry of International Relations and the Francophonie – MRIF), and Obvia (International Observatory on the Societal Impacts of AI and Digital Technologies); this committee aims to assess Quebec’s level of readiness in terms of responsible artificial intelligence through the use of UNESCO’s official methodology, the Readiness Assessment Methodology (RAM), which was launched in Quebec in late February 2026. She also leads the editorial board for a practical guide on artificial intelligence governance, soon to be published by IVADO.
A new stage in the agileDSS Group’s development: From pioneering venture to consolidation
A pioneer in artificial intelligence, as early as 2020 the agileDSS Group began making frequent public statements urging organizations to exercise caution before embracing AI. Since then, its various divisions have supported numerous Quebec organizations active in this field, in both the private and public sectors, and have built a growing client base in France after entering that market in 2025. They continue to be leading actors, and Véronique Tremblay’s arrival further strengthens the existing team.
